Events On This Month

Bikers Festival 1st - 3rd of May

Location: Paignton Green.

It started in 2002 with an idea and that idea was to have a social gathering of bikers on Paignton Seafront (Devon). We want to raise valuable money for charity and have a good time as well. That is exactly what has happened.

Paignton Bike Night has been running since 2003 and has become the largest social gathering of bikers in the South West of England on a regular basis. We have a mile of bikes parked side by side every Wednesday evenings from June to Sept each year on Paignton Seafront.

Due to the success of Paignton Bike Nights we now organise a Biker Festival weekend called Paignton Bike Festival that is held on Paignton Seafront (Devon). Our first Festival was in May 2005 and proved to be a total success not just for our charities but also for all concerned.

All the money raised go to the Charities - Sick and disabled children and their families/carers of Torbay, Devon Air Ambulance and St John. We are all unpaid volunteers here at BMAD and every £1 that is donated goes to charity.

This is the season when Dartmoor is at its worst, with heavy rainfall turning the moor into wet, marshy lands at many places. It is a high adrenalin event that attracts people from all over the world.

The participants in this event are mostly teenagers from schools and colleges. They first undergo training. There are six people in a team and they have to reach the top of every tor, where there is a checkpoint and in this similar fashion they have to complete all the Ten Tors.

This event first took place in 1960, so it has a long history to fall back on.
